100000 Astronautica

This minor planet is named after the Latin word for "star sailor." It was named in 2007 to commemorate the 50th year since the start of the Space Age, which began with the launching of the Sputnik satellite. Its number is also significant, as 100,000 is the number of meters above sea level at which the boundary of outer space is defined to be.

The symbol for this minor planet is the spaceflight symbol, an up arrow with a horizontal ellipse around the shaft, with an asteroidal star above.
