1280 Baillauda

This minor planet is named after French astronomer Jules Baillaud (1876 – 1960), not to be confused with his father, another French astronomer with an asteroid named after him, Benjamin Baillaud.

The symbol of this minor planet is a monogram of the capital Latin letters "JB" over an astronomer's star-in-circle.
