18610 Arthurdent
This minor planet is named after Arthur Dent, the reluctant protagonist of "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" by Douglas Adams, a comedic science fiction series of books/radio plays/movies/etc. He is repeatedly whisked across time and space, wearing nothing but a robe and slippers, and caring for nothing so much as a nice cup of tea. The symbol for this asteroid is just such a cup of tea, with an asteroidal star above it, representing Arthur's own interstellar travels. |
