27 Euterpe

Euterpe is one of the nine muses of Greek myth, which include Terpsichore, Erato, Clio, Thalia, Polyhymnia, Calliope, Euterpe, Urania, and Melpomene. She is the muse of music.

The symbol of this minor planet is an aulos, the Greek double flute with which Euterpe is often depicted. It has the form of an inverted Y-shape, with a pointed reed at the top. Like the other muse symbols, it should have an asteroidal star, in this case between the two necks of the instrument.
