443 Photographica
443.png

This minor planet was named by astronomer Max Wolf, after the method of minor planet detection which he pioneered. This consisted of studying photographic plates of time-exposure astronomical photographs, and deducing the presence and characteristics of an asteroid by the streak in the image. This method was an improvement on the previous tactic of real-time observation, and the 248 asteroids he discovered in his lifetime are testament to that.

The symbol of this minor planet is simple: a square, representing a photographic plate, with an asteroidal star in the center.
