 The referent for the name of this minor planet is unknown. Therefore, we are free to assume that it refers to the beverage known as tea, made by pouring hot water over a plant mixture that usually features Camellia sinensis. Tea as we know it today was invented in China thousands of years ago. The symbol for this minor planet is a simple teacup, with a Vesta-like tuft of smoke of steam rising from it. And that's the tea on that. |
