48 Doris

This minor planet is named after the nymph Doris, an Oceanid from Greek myth. She was the wife of Nereus, and mother to the many Nereids. She represents the purity and bounty of the seas.

The symbol of this minor planet is a simple glyph of a fish, facing right, itself a symbol of that goddess's abundance and wealth of life. I hope you are not disappointed by this symbol; sometimes they are just simple.
