5370 Taranis

This minor planet is named after Taranis, the god of thunder from Celtic myth. He was later syncretized with Jupiter, but was widely known for his very specific cult symbol: an eight-spoked wheel, representing the sun. Depictions of this god usually consist of a man hold a rod representing a lightning bolt aloft, and holding the wheel at his side.

The symbol of this minor planet is a small eight-spoked wheel, with a vertical line, representing the lightning bolt, extending above.
