67 Asia
67.png

This minor planet is named after an Oceanid from Greek myth. She was the wife of the titan Iapetus, and the mother of Atlas, Prometheus, and Epimetheus. This name was chosen because this was the first asteroid discovered by an astronomer in the continent Asia.

The symbol of this minor planet is the symbol for Earth, with the top vertical line segment removed and the Greek capital letter Alpha inscribed in it. This symbol represents the continent at least as much as it does the nymph.
