7700 Rote Kapelle

This minor planet is named after the Rote Kapelle, or Red Orchestra, a resistance group based in Berlin and Hamburg that fought against the fascist regime in WWII Germany. This was the code name the Gestapo gave to this anti-Nazi espionage group; radio operators that went against the regime were called "pianists," and their supervisors were called "conductors."

The symbol for this asteroid is a concert piano as viewed from above, with a downward arrow, representing resistance and opposition.
