967 Helionape
967.png

This minor planet is named after Adolf Ritter von Sonnenthal (1834–1909), an Austrian stage actor who achieved significant fame in Europe and America. He was well-accomplished in both tragedies and comedies. The exact name of this asteroid is a transliteration of his surname from German to Greek: Sonne becomes Helio, and tal becomes nape. This was back when asteroid nomenclaturists thought such a thing was necessary, for some reason.

The symbol for this minor planet combines the symbol for tragic art, a dagger (18 Melpomene) with the symbol for comedic art, a smiling mask (23 Thalia), over a solar dot, representing the Sonne/Helio in the eponymous actor's surname.
